Cake Decorating Contest
Do you have a great idea for a decorated cake? Here’s an opportunity for amateur cake decorators to put their creative talents to the test!

Mushroom Market Tent - Corner of Broadway and Court Street
All winners in each category will receive a festival rosette, local artisan handcrafted item from an Estill Arts Council member, and bragging rights.
2026 Contest Details
Rules
1. The cake must be made and decorated by the person entering the contest. Children (ages 6 – 8) may receive adult assistance with baking the cake, but cake must be decorated solely by the child entrant.
2. All entries must be an 8” cake on a 10” board.
3. The cake can be baked or a dummy cake, non-edible props may be used for decoration and structure.
Judging
Judging will be conducted by a panel of judges selected by the Mountain Mushroom Festival committee. Judges’ decisions are final. Entries will be judged on a point system.
Criteria: Design, creativity, presentation, overall impact, and use of mushrooms in the design.
Display
Cakes will be displayed 10:00 am until 7:00 pm on Saturday, and until 5:00 pm on Sunday. Cakes may be picked up at 5:00 pm on Saturday. If not picked up by 5:00 pm Sunday, April 26 they will be disposed.
Announcement of Winners
Saturday, April 25 at 12:30 pm at Mushroom Market.
